Job Description:
Sierra7, Inc. is seeking a Senior Communications Product Specialist to support the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - Office of Finance (OF). The Office of Finance is the steward of VHA financial resources for Veterans who receive healthcare. Continuous improvement is achieved through the full cycle of healthcare budget and accounting activities within a large financial community and external partnerships. The Senior Communications Product Specialist may handle public relations, information output, press releases and media requests, social media and/or advertising for a wide variety of product teams.
Position Responsibilities:
• Proactive collaboration, communication, and interfacing with project stakeholders, including end users, business, VA organizations, vendors, and service partners.
• Engage stakeholders across disciplines towards a goal of end-to-end line of sight across design, budgeting, and implementation.
• Monitor, control, and protect organizational communications.
• Develop communications and training materials supporting newly architected and developed solutions.
• Devise solutions to predicted problems, evaluating other options.
• Engage with the team to build a world-class community of practice to support customers and for continuous improvement by enhancing the knowledge base of standards, innovation, evolving risks, and best practices.
• Support various product line teams.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Skills:
• Operational experience supporting a large financial organization in the area(s) of communications and public relations.
• Experience in supporting politically sensitive priorities or initiatives that may be tightly integrated with other organizational programs.
• Experience in the analysis of IT business and information environment, activities, and events.
• Deep knowledge of data analysis, trend finding, patterns and being able to identify risks and offer solutions for improving processes that will improve overall agency performance.
• Demonstrated work experience success.
• Large-scale project experience a plus.
• Experience developing strategies and plans to enhance communications and training.
• Experience in creating diagrams and documentation.
• DevSecOps experience working within a COTs environment.
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with NIST and FedRAMP.
• Experience working within a Human Centered design a plus.
• Familiarity with supporting an authority to operate review and documentation development.
• Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Captivate Software Experience (desired).
• Familiarity with 508 Compliance (desired).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to successfully complete job duties independently or with minimum supervision.
• The ability to multitask.
• The ability to operate in a high stress environment.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasional travel may be required to government sites or for stakeholder meetings.
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
Education & Experience:
• 8 years' experience with a marketing or communications firm or with government agencies.
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or other related fields (8 years' experience may be substituted for education)
• Microsoft Office Suite comfortability (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Agile / SAFe certifications a plus.
• Previous Veterans Health Administration (VHA) experience
• VA experience a plus.
• Active VA Public Trust clearance (preferred).
• Must be able to get and maintain a government public trust.
