Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter

Sierra7, Inc. is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter who will provide real-time interpretation services to ensure the full participation of deaf and hearing-impaired individuals in the iFAMS Deployment Team's activities under the FMBT Program. This role is essential to supporting inclusive communication in a complex project environment involving system deployment, stakeholder engagement, training, and collaborative planning. The interpreter must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), possess a thorough understanding of the subject matter being discussed, and be able to interpret with speed, accuracy, and cultural sensitivity.

Position Responsibilities:
• Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL) in meetings, briefings, workshops, and training sessions related to iFAMS deployment.
• Accurately interpret technical, operational, and procedural content specific to financial management systems, ERP implementation, and healthcare administration.
• Ensure that deaf or hearing-impaired participants can fully understand and contribute to project planning, coordination, testing, training, and change management activities.
• Prepare for interpreting assignments by reviewing relevant program documents, technical content, and briefings in advance.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Code of Professional Conduct.
• Provide interpretation services in both in-person and virtual environments using video relay or remote interpreting platforms.
• Work collaboratively with program staff, trainers, system engineers, and subject matter experts to ensure smooth communication across all touchpoints.
• Support production of accessible training materials, quick reference guides, and communication tools to ensure compliance with Section 508 standards.

Requirements:
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English, with ability to interpret technical and program-specific terminology.
• Understanding of business, IT, or healthcare terminology to effectively interpret in a programmatic context.
• Experience in providing interpretation in fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to maintain professionalism across all interactions.
• Familiarity with remote interpreting technologies and tools (e.g., VRI platforms, Zoom with interpretation features).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
• RID Certification (National Interpreter Certification and Certified Deaf Interpreter Certification) or equivalent highly preferred.

Education & Experience:
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English, with ability to interpret technical and program-specific terminology.
• Understanding of business, IT, or healthcare terminology to effectively interpret in a programmatic context.
• Experience in providing interpretation in fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environments.
