Job Description:
TRISTAR is seeking a Electronics Technician (Radar) - for our government customer in Crane, INThe Electronics Technician will provide professional technical support for SPS-49 radar systemSpecific areas of interest: Transmitter repair, high voltage power supply repair, signal processing, fault isolation, obsolescence engineering research, component/system testing, and process/procedures enhancementsSpecific tasking performed will relate to electrical, electronic, or mechanical components. Knowledge required: SPS-49 radar system functionality, SPS-49 operations, RF test equipment, and DOD documentation processPosition Responsibilities:Duties will include radar system maintenance, repair, overhauls, fabrication of cable harnesses, parts inventory management and complete system testing using approved proceduresMust work with other technicians in testing and repair of AN/SPQ-9B and AN/SPS-48 radar system and associated equipmentMust be able to communicate effectively with Task Lead, Branch Manager, ISEA and US Navy fleetMust be able to provide troubleshooting assistance to the ISEA and US Navy. Must maintain parts inventory in accordance with OM&S regulationsMust be able to communicate effectively with Task Lead, Branch Manager, ISEA and US Navy fleetMust be able to provide troubleshooting assistance to the ISEA and US NavyRequirementsMinimum of 5 years experience on Radar system maintenance and repair, AN/SPQ-9B and AN/SPS-48 experience preferredSolder certified, knowledge of electronics, ability to read and understand schematicsMust be able to obtain the following:J-STD 001 Solder CertificationIPC-7711 Solder CertificationIPC-7721 Solder CertificationFall Protection End UserForklift operator qualifiedMust be a US CitizenAn Active Secret Clearance is required or the ability to obtain oneEducation and Certification:Associates degree and/or demonstrated equivalent experienceAbout TRISTAR
