POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Training and Development team is an integral part of the Human Resources Directorate. It serves as a center of excellence for Leadership Development, Training and Qualifications, and Nuclear Safety Training. In this role, you will support the analysis, design, development and implementation of training courses. This role reports to the Learning and Development Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as the Learning Technology Specialist, responsible for the design, maintenance, and development of e-learning courses including compliance training and nuclear safety training.
Serve as the subject matter expert on the LMS transition to Workday, assisting with handling user accounts, uploading course materials, creating learning journeys, setting up assessments, monitoring learner progress, and troubleshooting technical issues within the LMS.
Creating course content, training packages, developing interactive learning modules, and structuring curriculum based on learning objectives.
Generating reports on compliance metrics and overall learner experience and using data to inform course improvements.
Developing training solutions using e-learning development tools, which include using storyboards and design direction to create resources such as videos, job aids, and modules.
Supporting curriculum maintenance reviews for developed training and maintain e-learning assets according to compliance maintenance cycles.
Designing and developing templates and applying ADDIE approach toward module designing and track scores and absorption of the learning content.
Consulting with technical subject matter experts to conduct needs analyses for training analysis, design, and delivery methods.


POSITION REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or related field or equivalent experience, generally on the basis of 2:1 (experience: college) years.
Minimum of ten years of instructional design experience.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently and deliver quality training materials that meet regulatory and industry requirements.
Experience working with Workday Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Experience with instructional design and online course development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, and similar.


PREFERRED:
Twelve years of instructional design experience.
Experience in instructional design within related fields (scientific or laboratory environment) is a plus
Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate
Familiarity and experience with DOE 426.2A nuclear training requirements.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and work collaboratively.
Reliable, self-motivated, and focused on high-quality delivery of work products.
Strong organizational and project management skills.


Additional Information:
The preferred work arrangement for this position is on-site or hybrid, but remote work is a possibility.

Brookhaven Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. This is a multi-level role and the full salary range for this position is $99850 - $140000 / year. You will be placed at the level and salary commensurate with your experience. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate's qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
