The Role

Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.

This position is for a senior electrical engineer within department E63 - Aircraft Carrier Electrical Engineering, working primarily CVN RCOH. The candidate may work within the following disciplines: generators, load center switchboards, transformers, circuit breakers, 60Hz/400Hz systems, illumination, lighting circuits, machinery control and monitoring systems, ABTs and MBTs, interior communications, alarm circuits, fiber optic cable plant, radar, radio, or combat systems.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience;
Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
