Job Description:

The Senior Enterprise Data Architect will provide recommendations to improve and enhance the existing data architecture. The Senior Enterprise Data Architect will develop end-to-end data standards and solutions that address business requirements, including data warehousing, data lakes, and data integration solutions. They will design and oversee the implementation of data systems and architectures that support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis. The Senior Enterprise Data Architect must objectively analyze the desired processes and outcomes; identify costs and benefits; advise on the right combination of IT systems and components to achieve those goals; and prepare related enterprise architecture artifacts.

Position Responsibilities: Data Governance: Understanding of data governance frameworks and practices, including data quality, data lineage, metadata management, and compliance with federal regulation; Collaborate with data governance teams to establish and enforce data policies, standards, and best practices across the organization. Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; Work closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, and other IT teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Evaluate and manage relationships with stakeholders and service providers, ensuring their solutions align with enterprise data strategies. Architecture Development: Design scalable, robust, and secure data architectures that support various business applications and analytics needs. Technology Integration: Integrate various data technologies and platforms to create a cohesive data ecosystem, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability. Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Apache Spark, NoSQL Databases, Datawarehouse, Snowflake, and Data Analytics and related ecosystems. Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in cloud computing services and architectures from providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, especially their data services. Data Modeling: Create and manage logical, physical, and conceptual data models to support data management and analytics. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams, ensuring best practices in data engineering and architecture are followed. Performance Optimization: Optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability, ensuring efficient data processing and storage. Data Quality Management: Implement data quality frameworks and practices to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data. Security and Compliance: Ensure that data solutions comply with relevant security standards and regulatory requirements, implementing necessary controls and protections. Innovation and Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data architecture and management, incorporating them into solutions. Documentation and Training: Create detailed documentation for data solutions, architectures, and processes. Provide training and support to IT staff and business users. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Lifecycle Management: Understand the lifecycle of data solutions, from planning and development to deployment and maintenance, ensuring they continue to meet business needs.

Requirements:
Master's degree in computer science, engineering, engineering management, math, or similar technical discipline (10 additional years of experience may be substituted for education) 10+ years' relevant experience as a Data Architect for large systems Experience working in the Veterans Administration (VA) or other Government agency Understanding of how to apply state-of-the-art solutions to modify systems using a user-centered design and implementation approach Understanding of industry trends Proficient in SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI Ability to obtain a Government Public Trust security clearance Why Join Sierra7?
