The Senior Automated Test Engineer will assist in testing the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) and VA financial systems.
Position Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality throughout the software development lifecycle Participates in reviews of systems and elements under development to ensure traceability of requirement compliance through verification and validation Conducts readiness for system integration, test, evaluation, and transition activities Conduct functional, system, integration, regression testing of software applications to identify bugs and issues Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements and technical specifications Record test results and prepare detailed defect reports for developers Analyze test results and provide recommendations to improve software performance Actively engage in user acceptance testing (UAT) in coordination with end-users Help improve the quality assurance process by contributing to process improvement efforts Support all project reporting requirements
Requirements:
Knowledge of VA VISTA systems and VA financial systems Experience in Automation frameworks, developing, designing, and executing test automation scripts (Selenium, API Tools (Postman), any one of behavior driven development (BDD) or Test-driven development (TDD frameworks like Cucumber). Experience on Selenium with JAVA programming language in BDD framework Experience with Confluence, JIRA, and test case management systems for creating test artifacts and reporting for leadership. Experience collaborating with developers, end users and organizations to create test plans and test scripts. Experience in writing or assisting in the development of test plans and test procedures. Experience with configuring necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing. Experience in testing functionality, matching to requirements, and in having primary responsibility for individual projects and systems. Experience with Agile development and testing, DevSecOps, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Familiarity with Section 508 and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) [desired] Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree - Computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline 5 years relevant experience (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education) Experience working in Veterans Administration (VA) [required] Ability to obtain a VA Public Trust (Moderate Risk) clearance [required] Why Join Sierra7?
