About Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department

The Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department is looking for motivated, service oriented members to serve in operational and administrative positions. The Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department is a progressive combination department alongside the City of Fairfax Fire Department, serving the citizens of the City of Fairfax and beyond. We are comprised of 2 stations, roughly 70 career staff as well as an estimated 60 volunteers. Volunteers are imperative for filling operational riding positions alongside career staff as well as filling supplemental positions as needed. Our operational members serve as firefighter EMTs and all training is provided at no cost. Administrative members assist with fundraising, public education and committee memberships.
