JOB SPECIFICATION

To support and enhance infrastructure solutions for Xuber software installations implemented across London Market, General and Health insurance markets.

To support the team's compliance with contractual SLAs and to work with clients over project lifecycles, timeframes and content and reporting requirements whilst achieving agreed utilisation targets.

Management of source code, product builds, application deployment with accompanying documentation and the configuration/administration of all product development environments.

To Contribute in the design, development and enhancement of infrastructure solutions for the Xuber product suite.

Support the establishment and documenting of hardware requirements and proposing solutions for large and/or complex business areas through workshops and any other effective means.

To Deploy and upgrade Xuber Software into customer environments either remotely or on-site.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Technical Build and Specification

Contribute in the design, development and enhancement of infrastructure solutions for the Xuber product suite Supporting the establishment and documenting of hardware requirements and proposing solutions for large and/or complex business areas through workshops and any other effective means Assessment of strength, weaknesses, risks and opportunities associated with technologies and projects An awareness of best practice methodologies, potential project risks and raising issues at the appropriate level To provide expert 2nd and 3rd line support for existing customer application deployments and day-to-day queries Using analytical skills to troubleshoot configuration or systemic issues. Deployment of fixes/changes into client systems adhering to client specific release processes and audit requirements. To install or upgrade Xuber Software into customer environments either remotely (from UK) or on-site. Installation
Deploy software on client and internal systems. Maintain individual client deployment documentation. Maintain technical installation documentation. Develop deployment automation methods. Awareness of best practice methodologies. Use analytical skills to resolve problems. Support and maintain proprietary and associated 3rd party software installed on local and client sites.
Build & Deploy
Develops the continued adoption of Continuous Integration, enforcing and introducing process improvements that will ease application deployment while decreasing time taken from build to deployment. Scheduling, executing, and documenting software build processes using Team Foundation Server and SharePoint. Includes compiling software with standard software development tools, packaging builds for release, ensuring appropriate project documentation is available for each new build or release, and supporting a continuous integration environment. Migration of products builds between application environments (e.g. DEV, UAT, Demo, etc.). Provide guidance on version control and application source code including branching, builds, reporting, etc. Develops scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms. Sets up and maintains system and application environments; Implement custom solutions for software repository and application lifecycle management tools. Maintains a repository of configuration items for projects and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists. Provides effort for on-going support and maintenance of existing tools and applications. Required Skills and Experience

Working knowledge in the following technologies:
Windows Server, Database management Basic working knowledge of networking and protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS Managing 3rd party software requirements to support the successful function of company's products Understanding of IIS and how to configure this to support software deployments Understanding of Windows services and how to manage them. Understanding and editing XML configuration files. Windows batch scripting experience. Powershell scripting experience. Using Microsoft Installer to deploy and configure software. Understanding of Dev Ops function within an enterprise scale organisation.
Desirable Skills
Understanding of TFS infrastructure and the services it supplies. Experience using the Windows Installer XML (WIX) Toolset. Experience using SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT). Experience automating builds and continuous integration. Experience of cloud technologies. Understanding of Citrix, Virtual Server, Linux technologies Understanding of COM/COM+ and how to configure it to support software deployments.
General
Willing and able to undertake travel as required. Can work unsupervised from set of instructions.
