Temp to Hire
2nd shift: 2:00pm to 10:30pm
$16-$20 + 10% Shift differential
Over-time required 2 additional hours daily plus some weekends

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Sets up and operates the press to produce parts and wraps conforming to specified angles and dimensions of print or to production needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Operates the Turret Punch/Laser, and other machinery used in the production process, or assists other machine operators.
2. Selects proper die clearances based on material requirements.
3. Sets up tooling, loads programs and sets machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
4. Determines condition of tools and point of re-sharpening.
5. Works in a fast paced environment with fast changing priorities.
6. Follows established safety and environmental policies, procedures and methods applicable to the work area.
7. Performs other duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Trade school in welding, metal working preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
• 2 - 3 years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing and/or assembly environment.
• Proven experience operating and programming Amada or similar CNC Turret Punches.
• Experience working with sheet metal.

SKILLS:
• Basic knowledge of hand tools such as tape measure, wrenches, drills, calipers, etc.
• Basic level math skills including fractions and decimals and an understanding of angles.
• Ability to read from a schematic.
