Responsibilities:
As a Backup and Recovery Administrator you will be responsible for implementing and managing backups, performing data restores and resolving issues including escalations. A Backup and Recovery Administrator is expected to take the initiative to probe deeper into problems to fix root causes to proactively prevent recurrence. They are also expected to advise on best practices to ensure the customer's backup solutions are reliable, efficient and supportable.
Qualifications:

Minimum of one year hands-on experience with maintaining large backup and restore environments; Intermediate knowledge of and experience with backup and restore principles and design; Knowledge of UNIX and Microsoft operating systems as it pertains to backups and restores; Knowledge of SAN based backups and restores; Advanced knowledge of and experience with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Administration is required; Experience with managing and troubleshooting tape libraries, tape silos, tape media, drive failures, device connectivity and cabling, as well as backup management software and servers; Understanding of technologies and tools that support all tiers of backup and restore management, strategies, and techniques
