Job Description:

comScore is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer.  We do a great deal of our testing manually. We automate where we can, and then code those automated scripts using Ruby, JavaScript, or whatever the situation calls for. We're looking for a great team member with strong manual testing experience to include: cross-browser, Windows & Mac OS (iPhone and Android are OK too!). Testing at the registry level or any router level testing experience would be very attractive as well.
Core Responsibility:
Identify functionality errors and potential risk with new development prior to Production launch Identify potential bugs in existing applications and document all issues into the defect tracking system Maintain communication channel with software engineers and project managers on current project status Assist Software Engineers with basic support in troubleshooting problems in development and production Understand and enforce the software release process for all application development Create and execute test suites and verify expected results Verify that all software releases conform to company policies on data handling Perform both manual and automated tests Required Skills:
4+ years of software testing experience Thorough understanding of HTTP and associated internet protocols - this is critical for this role.  Experience creating and executing test cases Hands on experience writing code for automation scripts as well as manual testing experience. Demonstrated ability to seek out bugs Time management skills & ability to multi-task Experience in testing multiple desktop, browsers and mobile platforms Ability to run basic Unix/Linux commands Strong analytical skills and detail oriented and the ability to trouble-shoot various integrating systems effectively and resolve problems. Strong communication skills for both technical (developers) and non-technical (customers, management) audiences A self-starter that is proactive, and highly motivated Preferred Skills:
Ability to utilize SQL to retrieve and manipulate data - this includes optimzation of queries, joins, and other SQL data.  Familiar with web debugging/sniffing tools - Fiddler, WireShark, Firebug, etc. Previous experience in a test lead or developer type role
