JOB TITLE: Configuration Manager/Data Manager
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Configuration/Data Manager supporting the Joint Service System Management Office (JSSMO) with modernization of existing GPS receivers to meet existing DoD and civil mandates and national-level priorities . The position supports multiple GPS projects and programs in various phases of acquisition maturity, predominantly airborne programs preparing to enter development. The program requires interfacing with a large number of Air Force, Navy and Army offices for coordination of program planning and technical interfaces This position will be assigned at government offices at Robins AFB, GA.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing acquisition management support services to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of acquisition services in support of the customer's mission. Services include some or all of the following:
Duties include conduct of the full suite of configuration and data management responsibilities in support of the assigned program. Assist in establishment and documentation of configuration management practices, policies and procedures as required As required, review and provide feedback on prime contractor configuration control systems Assist in identification of appropriate hardware and software configuration items for the applicable acquisition programs Ensure documentation and traceability of the system requirements through establishment and/or modification of end-item specifications, and other engineering documentation comprising the functional and physical configuration documentation for associated hardware and software As required, brief ECPs, CCPs and other configuration changes to the CCB Participate in Functional and Physical Configuration Audits in conjunction with the prime contractors Ensure proper configuration status accounting procedures are in place and followed.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Security Clearance: Secret
Active Secret Clearance Bachelor's Degree At least 5 years of related configuration management experience in a Defense-related acquisition environment Experience with defense acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives Excellent communications skills, both written and verbally Clear understanding of the OSD and USAF Acquisition organization
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Level I DAWIA Certification (Acq Log / Acq PM) 10 years related configuration and data management experience, 3 of those years of experience supporting a weapon system Program Office within an AFLCMC (or predecessor) Product Center, AFSPC SMC product center, or similar US Army / US Navy Program Office Participation in development and coordination of documentation in support of major program milestones (preferably ACAT 1 but ACAT II/III acceptable) E xperience with GPS systems, electronics, and/or software
