Responsibilities
The Accounting Support activities will include, but are not limited to:
Setting up new accounting codes and organizational structures within the financial management system. Migrating financial operations from multiple existing financial management systems into one system. Assisting human resources in ensuring the organization is prepared to pay salaries and benefits in the new structure. Realigning appropriated funding within the Common Appropriation Structure. Assistance with re-organizing and re-writing budgetary request documentation (e.g., Resource Allocation Plans, Congressional Justification, etc). Assist existing financial management system trainers with on-the-job training of staff not previously experienced with the adopted financial management system.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field. A minimum of 10 years experience in financial management. Mastery of, and skill in applying, the concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of budgeting and financing. High degree of skill in analyzing and comparing budgets and programs actions to recommend the best use of funds. Comprehensive and detailed knowledge and understanding of governing budgetary policies, financial processes, budget forecasts, estimates, and submissions conform to requirements, guidelines, and financial objectives. Knowledge of analytical processes that is appropriate for conducting cost-benefit analysis, depreciation, pro-ration of revenues and costs, and identification of trends in the use of funds. Strong analytical and policy analysis background. Working experience in Accounting. Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and respond to quick tum-around requests. Superior skills with Microsoft Office programs (Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
