General Clerk I - 2 nd Shift Lincoln, NE

FCi Federal has an opportunity for multiple General Clerk Is to join the team providing support to our Federal Government customer located in Lincoln, NE. The hours for 2 nd Shift are 3:00pm to 11:30pm.
As a General Clerk I, you will follow a few clearly detailed procedures in performing simple repetitive tasks in the same sequence, such as filing pre-coded documents in a chronological file or operating office equipment, e.g., mimeograph, photocopy, addressograph or mailing machine.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include work in one or more areas, including:
Sorts internal mail and delivers it to the destination, often using a cart to carry the mail between offices. Handles external mail, serving as the link between the U.S. Postal Service and individual offices and workers. Facilitates delivery of outgoing mail by determining if the mail is to be sent registered, certified, special delivery, or first, second, third, or fourth class, and may group mailings by ZIP code. Contacts delivery services to send important letters or parcels. Operates machines that collate, fold, and insert material into envelopes for mailing. Operates machines that affix postage and mailing labels and tracks the amount of money expended on postage. Uses computers to keep records of outgoing items. Retrieves, sorts, assembles and maintains files Generates manifests Prepares files for shipping Generates screen prints and barcodes Performs searches and queries Scans file barcodes for responsible party code audits Verifies data and makes computer updates Scans and adjusts documents Photocopies documents Delivers files to identified destination Updates systems from barcode scanning or keying Reviews file for final action steps and secures loose documents Places files on shelves Creates documents and updates systems Prepare materials for destruction Remains knowledgeable of contract performance requirements and acceptable quality levels for assigned tasks to achieve contract compliance Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested. The Basic Qualifications for this position are as follows:
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background check and security determination Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level Government Security clearance if selected for a position handling Registered Mail Must successfully complete a comprehensive 10-year criminal and credit history background check Must successfully complete a drug screening Must successfully complete a computer-based assessment on basic computer skills Minimum Experience, Education and Licensure:
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Computer skills required: Computer literate Express and exchange ideas clearly in the English language, written and verbal Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment and relate well to others Ability to show initiative and commitment to the company's goals Ability to readily adapt to changing requirements Strong commitment to performing and producing at the highest level of quality at all times. Ability to manage individual workflow effectively Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers both in written and verbal communications Positive attitude focused on customer satisfaction Physical Demands:
Read rapidly from both paper and a computer terminal Manual dexterity in the use of word processing equipment Capable of doing daily clerical repetitive tasks Good hand to eye coordination Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as: lifting, standing, sitting, reaching, twisting, sealing envelopes, filing, and reading Ability to work in one place and transverse the office on a continuing basis Ability to lift and transport up to 45 lbs. and push large carts Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time Mental Demands:
