NDI provides engineering and logistics services to the US Navy and federal government. Expertise in design and analytical services; logistics and maintenance support for Navy ships, submarines and facilities. NDI performs engineering studies, analysis, shipchecks, technical reports, work package development, and design engineering. NDI has core competence in naval architecture, marine, electrical, electronic and maintenance engineering, logistics support, shipboard test and insp. and failure analysis. NDI has 205 employees, including 70 Engineers; 17 licensed PE’s.

NDI Engineering Company provides the highest quality design, engineering, technical and logistics services to government and municipal clients engaged in the maintenance of our infrastructure, the protection of our environment, and the defense of our country. NDI is a family-owned small business chartered in Pennsylvania. The company was formed in 1966 as National Designers, Inc. and subsequently evolved into NDI Engineering Company in 1983.

NDI is headquartered in Thorofare, New Jersey with offices located in Virginia Beach and Philadelphia, with technical support personnel located in Navy homeports in CONUS and OCONUS. NDI specializes in Marine Engineering and technical services for the US Navy, Military Sealift Command (MSC), MARAD, NOAA, US Army and the US Coast Guard. We have additionally provided Facilities Engineering services for NAVFAC, local, state and other federal government entities. NDI also provides marine engineering services for commercial marine industrial activities such as AKER Philadelphia Shipyard, General Dynamics American Overseas Marine, C&T Marine, Crowley, Patriot Contract Services, Northeast/Philadelphia Ship Repair, Colonnas’s Shipyard, MHI and BAE Norfolk Ship Repair, to name a few.

NDI has delivered on the many prime contracts it has been awarded, which include over 20 prime Seaport contracts across technical and program support areas encompassing submarine and surface ship HM&E Ship Systems design, maintenance and performance as well as ground based test site support, submarine HM&E sail systems and deployed antenna support, air launch and recovery systems, acquisition logistics and program management support and others. In addition, NDI has supported the Military Sealift Command and the US Coast Guard with project management and industrial work design and planning for regular ship overhauls and ship alteration modifications.
NDI operates under an ISO 9001 Quality System as an integral part of the corporate structure that is intimately related to each administrative and technical program currently in place. Our Quality System, which was independently recertified in January 2018, covers a full range of process requirements for design, drawing development, test procedures, hardware fabrication and testing, installation, software, material purchasing and receiving activities.
